McLure, nephew of Mr. and Ms. J. K. McLure of Winnfield. His home is Houston, Texas, and his mother is Mrs. Ruth C. Horton of that city. A Winn Parish boy also lost his life in the same crash, Private First Class Curtis D. Peterson, son of Mrs. Velma Brunson Peterson of Goldonna. The plane crashed while on a routine flight near Montgomery, Texas, in a low swampy area, and the accident was reported to Ellington Field, Houston, the cause of which is being investigated by army officials.
