P. McManus Held At Mars Hill G.P. McManus, 73, of Atlanta, died Friday night, August 10, in a Winnfield hospital after a long illness. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Sunday at Mars Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Everett Bringle officiating. Burial was in the Mars Hill Cemetery under direction of Edmonds Funeral Home of Jonesboro. McManus was a retired sawmill employee. Survivors include eight sons, Debdis McManus, Aaron McManus, Grant McManus and Elzie McManus, all of Baytown, Texas, James McManus, J. P. McManus, Jr., and Ocie McManus, all of Winnfield, and Henry D. McManus of Houston, Texas; two daughters, Mrs. Altha House of Winnfield and Mrs. Ruby Thrower of Baytown, Texas; three brothers, Travis McManus of Forest Hill, B. C. McManus of Port Arthur, Texas, and S. L. McManus of Atlanta; three sisters, Mrs. Minnie Johnson of Verda, Mrs. Bernice Tarver of Winnfield, and Mrs. Bonnie Lovette of Bossier City; 19 grandhcildren and nine great grandchildren.
