Funeral services were held at the local Presbyterian Church with the pastor, Rev. Alwin Stokes in charge, on Friday, May 30, at 2:30 p.m. Interment was held in the Winnfield Cemetery. Mr. McMahan was born in Texarkana, Arkansas July 25, 1904. He came to Winnfield to live when only a child. He married in June, 1934 and was the father of two children. He was a member of the Christian Church at Texarkana. Mr. McMahan was one of the first persons employed at the Carey Salt Mine at Winnfield and at the time of his death was employed there. He is survived by his wife and two daughters, Sue and Jance, two sisters, Mrs. Charles Works, Winnfield, and Mrs. Joe McConathy, Alco, La., and one brother, Hubert McMahan of Albany, Ga.
