L. McCarty, Sikes Native, Succumbs Sun. Milo L. McCarty, 58, of Pollock, died at 10:30 p.m. Sunday, April 23, 1972 in a New Orleans hospital following a brief illness. He was a native of Sikes and a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Survvors include his wife, Mrs. Fannie McCarty of Pollock; two sons, T. L. McCarty of Alexandria and J. F. McCarty of Shreveport; a daughter, Miss Dorothy Nell McCarty of Pollock; four brothers, E. F. McCarty of Baton Route, Cecil McCarty of Winnfield, J. Wayne McCarty of Monroe, and F. A. McCarty of Natchitoches; three sisters, Mrs. Maurine Sanders and Mrs. Vina Sanders, both of Sikes, and Mrs. Vocie Sanders of Pollock; and seven grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church near Pollock with Rev. O. C. Clark, Rev. Jessie Norris, Rev. Jesse Gallinger, and Rev. Jay Riley officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home, Winnfield. Pallbearers were deacons of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, near Pollock.
