All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: May 2, 1968 Winn Parish Enterprise News-American Jerry McManus, Mars Hill, Is Missing In Action Jerry McManus, about 20, son of Mr. and Mrs. Noel McManus of Mars Hill, was reported missing in action by the England Air Force Base officials last weekend. Young McManus was a tail-gunner on a helicopter which was lost supposedly in the new invasion of South Vietnam where so many helicopters have been shot down. He was nearing the end of his year's service in Vietnam and had been expected to come home next month. Jerry McManus attended Verda High School and enlisted in the Armed Forces about two years ago. Besides his parents, he has three brothers, Johnny, a student at Verda School, Jimmy, who recently returned from Vietnam, and Richard of Alaska. He also has one sister, married, and residing in Shreveport.
