L. McManus Buried At Mars Hill June 22 Mrs. Loyd McManus (Joy Fletcher) of Goodrich, Texas, passed away on June 21 at 3:10 a.m. in a Lufkin hospital after a lengthy illness. She was 49 years and two days of age at the time of her death and was born in Grant Parish near Verda and was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Manuel Flethcer of Verda. Funeral services were held in Goodrich Baptist Church of which she was a member on June 22 at 10 a.m. with the church pastor officiating. Burial followed at 4:30 p.m. in the Mars Hill Cemetery near Verda. Graveside rites were held. Pallbearers were friends of Goodrich Church. Mrs. McManus was a housewife and mother and attended Verda High School prior to her marriage to Loyd McManus, also formerly of Verda. Survivors include her husband; a son, Ray McManus of the Air Force; two granddaughters, Becky and Patty McManus; two sisters, Mrs. Grace Watson, Alexandria and Mrs. Hazel Brady, Route 1, Atlanta; five brothers, S. Q. Fletcher, Winnfield, Talmadge and Travis Fletcher, Alexandria, Loydd Fletcher, Pollock, and Lester Fletcher of Route 1, Atlanta; and her father in law, Rufus McManus of Route 1, Atlanta.
