Mrs. L. McMurry Dies; Buried At Harmony Grove

Mrs. Lela McMurry, 88, a member of the Dark family of the Gaars Mill
Community, died in a Winnfield hospital at 7:45 a.m. Sunday, June 26, 1960. 
She was a life long resident of Winn Parish.

Funeral services were conducted at the Harmony Grove Baptist Church Monday at
2 p.m. with burial in the church cemetery.

Survivors are four daughters, Mrs. S. C. Maloy and Mrs. A. E. Robertson of
Gaars Mill, Mrs. Arthur Gibbs, Monroe, and Miss Eva McMurry, New Orleans;
three sons, Onis McMurry, Sikes, Jim McMurry, Groveton, Texas, and Alfred
McMurry, Redding, Calif.; five sisters, Mrs. Luella Branch of Colfax, Mrs. Oro
Higgenbotrham, Jonesboro, Mrs. Annie Zigler of Pasco, Wash., Mrs. Maud Reed,
Dodson, and Mrs. Cora Carter, Ruston; four brothers, Howard, Joe, and J.
F. Dark of Jonesboro, and P. T. Dark of Shreveport; 17 grandchildren and
32 great grandchildren.
