A. McMurdo To Be Buried Jan. 22 In Auburn, Ill. Final rites for Thomas A. McMurdo, 80, operator of a small neighborhood grocery store in Winnfield and a retired employee of a railroad, died in a local hospital at 2:35 a.m. Wednesday, following a stroke which he suffered Sunday. Funeral services have been scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, January 22 in the Willis Funeral Home Chapel in Auburn, Ill., with burial to follow in the Auburn Cemetery. The body was at Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Winnfield until Wednesday afternoon. Mr. McMurdo, with his family, moved to Winnfield 30 some-odd years ago. The had previously resided in West Memphis, Tenn., Cuba, and Auburn, Ill. His wife died in 1941 and he and his daughter, Mrs. Lucille McGoldrick, continued to make their home in this city. Besides his daughter, he leaves one brother, James McMurdo of Auburn, Ill., and a number of nieces and nephews in Illinois and other northern states.
