Sanders McNaughton Buried Tuesday On March 17, 1930, death claimed another of the well-known and highly respected citizens of Winn Parish, when Mrs. Rhoda Sanders McNaughton passed away at the home of her son, Mr. Jesse McNaughton of Cold Water. Mrs. McNaughton, nee Rhoda Sanders, was born in Jackson Parish May 3, 1955, but moved to Winn when a girl, where she died March 17, 1930, being nearly seventy-six years of age. She was buried in Sanders Chapel March 18, at 12 p.m. the Rev. Wier, officiating. Mrs. McNaughton was a life long Methodist and lived and died in the faith of Jesus Christ. She never missed a chance to speak for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. One of her last utterances was an admonition to her children to live for Jesus and to meet her in heaven. She was conscious to the last few moments of life and treated death as though she were going on a long trip. She was the mother of four boys and two girls, her eldest son having been buried only one week ago in the Sanders' Chapel graveyard. The following children survive: Jesse, Cold Water; Dennis, Winnfield; Milton, Cotton Valley; and Mrs. G. W. Lloyd of Tatum, Texas. Mrs. McNaughton was dearly beloved and is mourned by a host of friends. She wielded a fine influence for good to all of these and they are unstinted in their expressions of love and admiration for her.
