Mother of A. J. McCartney Dies; Rites Held Wed.

Mrs. Vera Frezie McCartney, 73, died Tuesday, November 25, 1969 in a hospital
in Natchitoches.  She was a resident of Marthaville.

Survivors include her husband, John A. McCartney of Marthaville; four 
daughters, Gladys McCartney, Mrs. Madeline Pourciau, Mrs. Sadie Pourciau, and
Mrs. Helen Draughon, all of Baton Rouge; two sons, A. J. McCartney of 
Winnfield, Cullen McCarty of Ventura, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Raleigh
Walker of Pleasant Hill and Mrs. Delia Welch of Robeline; a brother, Jimmy
Frezie of Pleasant Hill, and 10 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Beulah Methodist Church with
Rev. Horser Bailes officiating.  Burial was in Beulah Cemetery.
