Jealousy Cause of Murder. Lodged In Parish Jail Virgie Damon, colored, stabbed Vera McWright, colored, through the heart causing instant death Tuesday about one o'clock. The row took place in the T. & G. quarters when the Damon woman crazed by jealousy invaded the lodging place of Vera McWright, flourishing a pocket knife which she plunged into the heart of her rival. According to the information obtained Virgie and Jack Damon, with whom she had been living, had separated about three months ago when Virgie went to Colfax to live. Jack Damon rented a house and subletted a room to Vera McWright with whom he took board. Upon Vergie's return from Colfax the arrangements were not to her liking and she took a hand in the affair resulting in the death as stated. Virgie was taken into custody and is now lodged in the parish jail awaiting the action of the grand jury.
