A. L. Martindale Succumbs In Jasper, Tex.

Albert Leroy Martindale, 77, of Jasper, Texas, died Monday night, December 24,
1973, at the Jasper Memorial Hospital.  Mr. Martindale was the father of
Vernon Martindale of Winnfield.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Robert Cheek, pastor of the First
Baptist Church of Jasper, Texas, at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 26, 1973. 
The services was conducted in the chapel of J. O. Stringer Funeral Home of
Jasper.  Burial followed in the Little Hope Cemetery.

Mr. Martindale who was a lifelong resident of Jasper, had retired in December,
1961.  Before his retirement he had been a timber supervisor for Southwestern
Settlement and Development Company.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Edith Ethel Martindale of Jasper; two sons,
Dorman A. Martindale of Florida and Vernon Martindale of Winnfield; one
daughter, Evelyn Marshall of Orange, Texas; two sisters and one brother.
