Meek, 73, Former Winnfield Resident Dies Funeral services for C. A. Meek, retired lumberman of Shreveport, and former resident of Winnfield, were held in Shreveport, Tuesday, at 2 p.m. Interment was in Forest Park Cemetery. Mr. Meek, vice-president of the Mansfield Hardwood Lumber Company for 45 years, retired in 1928. A native of Indianapolis, Ind., built sawmills at Winnfield and Zwolle, and at Reede, Ark. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. C. A. Meeks, Shreveport; two daughters, Mrs. Martha DeLoach, Zwolle; Miss Ethel Meek, Shreveport; five sons, Willard of Lake Charles, Albert and Robert of Shreveport, Harry A. of Glendale, Calif., and James Melton Meek of Washington, D. C. Honorary pallbearers named in Winnfield were Jessie Corley, Bryant C. Long, A. P. Burton, Judge R. W. Oglesby, Sheriff Bryant Sholars, C. F. Walsworth, Jack Oglesby, Tracy L. Harrel, Mack L. Branch, John T. DeLoach, Cyrus McGinty, and Judge Cas Moss.
