Mrs. Bud Melton, 83, Succumbs; Rites Tuesday

Funeral services for Mrs. Iva Pearl Howell Melton, 83, of Winnfield, were held
Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the United Pentecostal Church here with the Revs. C.
D. Bates and Otis Davidson officiating.

Burial was in the Melton family cemetery here under the direction of Hixson
Brothers Funeral Home of Winnfield.

Mrs. Melton died Monday night, December 25, 1972 in a local hospital following
a brief illness.

She was the wife of the late Bud Melton of Packton.

Survivors include one son, William Jack Melton of Beeville, Texas; two
daughters, Mrs. Laura Harkins and Mrs. Maxine Hale, both of Winnfield; one
brother, P. D. Howell, Winnfield; three sisters, Mrs. Viola Melton,
Georgetown, Mrs. Alma Walton and Mrs. Grace Rosenblath, both of Shreveport;
nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Pallbearers included Jim Melton, Rev. Harry Foockle, Mike Melton, Kenneth
Melton, Allan Hale, and Lynn Melton.
