Melton Held Sunday P. M. Funeral services for Mrs. Nancy Wright Melton, who died at the home of her daughter in Baton Rouge, were held Sunday afternoon at three o'clock at the First Baptist Church here with Rev. Alwin Stokes officiating, assisted by the Rev. H. H. McBride. Mrs. Melton had been ill for several years. She had been at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Carter Keith, in Baton Rouge, since last June. She was born April 2, 1866 and in 1883 married W. D. Melton, who preceded her in death a year ago. Surviving are eight of her eleven children. They are Riley J. Melton, Wright Melton, of Winnfield, Lee J. Melton of Oak Ridge, Tn., Bill Tom and Cranford Melton of Minden; two daughters, Mrs. Gene Finch and Mrs. Carter Keith, of Baton Rouge, and one sister, Mrs. Lucy Long of Georgetown. Pallbearers were Bryant Sholars, J. E. Carter, John N. Sowers, C. F. Walsworth, George Hightower, and E. S. Burke.
