Mrs. Melton

Funeral services for Mrs. Mattie White Melton, 86, of Minden, widow of Wright
Melton, formerly of Winnfield, were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the chapel
of Kidder-Cox Funeral Home in Oak Grove with the Rev. Sam Germany officiating.

Burial was in New Forest Cemetery for Mrs. Melton who died at 9:20 p.m.
Thursday, March 9, 1978, in a Minden hospital after a short illness.

Survivors include three sons, E. H. White of Sondheimer, O. J. White of Baton
Rouge, and Doyle H. White of Oak Grove; six daughters, Mrs. Bobbie Jean Beatty
of Minden, Mrs. Audette Smith of Bernice, Mrs. Johnnie V. Bennett of Oak
Grove, Mrs. Lennie Mae Williams of Nicholson, Miss., Mrs. Ethel Arender of
Alexandria, formerly of Winnfield, Mrs. Edith White of Tallulah; three
sisters, Mrs. Janie Hart of West Monroe, Mrs. Lennie Hammons of Colfax, and
Mrs. Oranghque Quimby of Pass-A-Grill, Fla; 32 grandchildren and a number of
great grandchildren.
