John Melton Dies At St. Maurice July 4

Mr. John Melton, aged 67 years, 11 months, who died at his home at St. Maurice
July 4, 1934 following a stroke of paralysis was buried at the cemetery at St.
Maurice last Thursday.  Rev. Kerney Keegan of Natchitoches and Rev. Halbert of
Zwolle officiated at the obsequies.  The deceased was a native of Georgetown,
Ala. but had been a resident of the parish for nineteen years.

He is survived by his widow, his mother, Mrs. John L. Melton of Amarillo,
Texas, and seven children: Miss Sarah Melton of St. Maurice, Miss Alva and Mr.
Jack Melton of Shreveport; Mr. Thomas Melton of Zwolle; Mrs. Willie Ivey of
Coldwater; Mrs. Bill Ford of Hornbeck and Mr. M. L. Melton of San Antonio,
Texas.
