George Cranford Melton

Services for George Cranford Melton, 79, will be at 2 p.m. today in
Edmonds Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Eugene Love officiating.

Burial will be in Melton Cemetery with Masonic graveside services.

Mr. Melton died Friday in West Monroe Guest House after a long illness.

Survivors include three sons, Jerry Melton of West Monroe, Roy Melton
of Birmingham, Ala., and Wayne Melton of Winnfield; a brother, Lee
Melton of Winnfield; a sister, Mrs. Jewel Sheppard of Baton Rouge;
and three grandchildren.

Masons will serve as pallbearers.

Footnote added: George Cranford Melton (12/10/1901 - 10/23/1981) was
married on 12/06/1930 to Rosanna Morris (3/19/1906 - 1/28/1977).
