Funeral Services For Mrs. Meredith Held At Friendship

Funeral services for Mrs. Lucy Jane Smith Meredith, 80, were held at 3 p.m.
Monday in Friendship Baptist Church near Sikes with Rev. Willie James
officiating.  Burial was in the church cemetery in Sikes under direction
of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.

Mrs. Meredith died Sunday, July 11, 1965, in a Winnfield hospital after a long
illness.  She was a native of Winn Parish and a member of one of the pioneer
families of Winn Parish.

Mrs. Meredith was a member of the Beech Creek Baptist Church.

She is survived by two brothers, R. P. Smith and P. W. Smith, both of Sikes,
and a sister, Mrs. Beulah Smith McCarty of Monroe.
