Grandson of Area Residents Dies In Ville Platte

Funeral services for little Carl Metcalf, 6 year old son of Mr. and Mrs.
Willie Metcalf of Pine Prairie were held Saturday, September 12, 1970 at 2:30
p.m. in the Union Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Tom Heath of Lake Charles and
Rev. Don Harris of Pine Prairie officiating.  Interment was under the
direction of Hixson Funeral Home of Winnfield at the church cemetery.

He died at 8:30 p.m. September 10, 1970 in Ville Platte Medical Center after a
short illness.

Survivors in addition to the parents are one sister, Sadone Metcalf of Pine
Prairie, his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Lyda Davison, his maternal
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ollie Bishop, maternal great grandparents, H. A.
Durham and Mrs. Maude Bishop, all of Montgomery.

Pallbearers were Johnny Garner, Melvin Horn, Delmon McNabb, and Billy Palmer.
