Last Rites Held For D. J. Miller In Joyce Sunday

Funeral services for David J. Miller, 42, of Winnfield, were held at the Old
Union Church in Joyce, Sunday, May 8, with the Rev. W. C. Bounds of Hudson
officiating.  Burial was in the Union Cemetery under direction of the Southern
Funeral Home.

Mr. Miller died at his home in Winnfield Saturday, May 8.  He was a member of
the Baptist Church.

Pallbearers were: Coy Sanders, Henry Sanders, Coy Miller, Malcolm Collins,
Harvey Cockerham, and Albert Cockerham.

Honorary pallbearers were: Elzie Adams, Velbert Connor, Lester Dickerson,
Suell Maloy, Delos Prescott, Horace, Louis, John, and Cortez Snow, Aaron
Creel, and Henry Cockerham.

Mr. Miller is survived by his wife, Mrs. D. J. Miller; two sons, John D. and
Garland Edgar Miller of Winnfield; four brothers, Jack and Walter Miller of
Winnfield; Lawson and Richard Miller of Carlisle, Texas; five sisters, Mrs.
Jennie Parker and Mrs. Modell Whisonant of Baton Rouge; Mrs. Anna Lee Lane and
Mrs. Rose Oglesby of West Monroe; Mrs. Pearl Collins of Tulsa, Okla.
