O. Mills Held Here Sunday June 10 R. O. Mills, 85, retired from the Tremont & Gulf Railway for many years, died in a local nursing home Saturday, June 9. He was a native of Pickens, Miss., but had spent most of his life in Winnfield. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Winnfield Masonic Lodge. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 10, at the Southern Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. W. R. Gage officiating. Burial was in the Winnfield Cemetery under direction of Edmonds Funeral Home. Masonic rites were conducted at the graveside, with Warren W. Allen leading. Acting as pallbearers were Reggie Gates, G. P. Long, Homer Smith, R. D. Bevill, John Steen, and Justin Hammons. Mr. Mills is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Houston Gates of Winnfield; one granddaughter, and two great grandsons. Out of town relatives and friends attending the last rites were Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Donohoe, Jr., Lafayette; Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Gates, Pineville; Mrs. Ione Headrick, Alexandria; Mrs. J. C. Green, West Monroe; Mrs. T. O. Mills, Monroe; Mr. and Mrs. Glen Headrick and family, Shreveport; and Justin Hammons, Sikes.
