Funeral services will be held for Mrs. V. Matt Milam, Jr., 23, of Winnfield, at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church of which she is a member. Burial will be in the Winnfield Cemetery. Rev. H. H. McBride will be in charge of the services and will be assisted by Rev. Harold Rutledge, Rev. H. Y. Mott, Rev. Alwin Stokes, and Rev. Fred Flurry. Pallbearers will be Edward Powell, Jimmie Harrell, Bobby Byrnes, Lyndon Allen, Truett Thompson, and Donald Maxwell. Mrs. Milam died Thursday morning at 6:30 o'clock in the Baptist Hospital, Alexandria, after almost three weeks of illness caused by a rare liver disease. She was stricken after the birth of her twin sons February 14. The former Marjorie Brown of Rising Star, Texas, Mrs. Milam and Mr. Milam were married three years ago. They resided in Monroe and other points until his discharge from the Army Air Force, after which they established their home in Winnfield, where both have a host of friends. She is survived by her husband, V. Matt Milam, Jr., her twin sons whom she named Michael and Tommy, of Winnfield, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Brown and her brothers, Dickie and James, of Rising Star, Texas. Funeral arrangements will be directed by Hixson Funeral Home. No. 2 Last Rites Held For Mrs. V. Matt Milam, Jr., Feb. 28 A large number of relatives and friends attended the funeral services for Mrs. V. Matt Milam, Jr., here last Friday afternoon. Winnfield stores closed during the funeral. Rev. H. H. McBride was in charge of the services at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Harold Rutledge, Rev. H. J. Mott, Rev. Alwin Stokes, and Rev. Fred Flurry assisting.
