All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: November 10, 1955 Winn Parish Enterprise News-American Otis Milam, 59, Kilgore, Drowns; Buried Near Here Final rites for Otis Milam, 59, of Kilgore, Texas, who drowned last Friday when he fell into an oil tank near Kilgore, were held at the Teagle Cemetery near Winnfield Monday afternoon with the Rev. Mr. Anderson officiating. Mr. Milam was working with a pipeline crew when the accident occurred. Fellow workers said he fell through the top of the tank when he stepped onto it. Kilgore firemen gave artificial respiration for 30 minutes but were unable to revive him. Milam, a native of Ward 8, Winn Parish, had been an employee of the Shell Oil Pipeline Corp. for almost 30 years. He was to have retired in February. Surviving are his wife, the former Corine Brunson of Calvin; two brothers, Lonnie Milam, Dallas, Texas, and Hezzie Milam, Monroe; one sister, Mrs. Myrtle Parker, Meridian, Miss.
