G. Milam of Kilgore Killed in Action, West Front Cpl. O. G. Milam, son of Mr. and Mrs. O. G. Milam of Kilgore, Texas, and grandson of Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Brunson of Calvin, was killed in action on the Western front, according to information received by relatives in Winn Parish. He was the nephew of Mr. and Mrs. Robbins Carter of Winnfield, Route 3, and Mrs. Ruby White of Route One, Winnfield. Entering service in May, 1943, he was serving with the Third Army in an Anti- Tank Company. He had been overseas only a month when killed. He received his training in Sacramento, Calif., Lawrence, Kansas, and Camp Gruber, Okla. Cpl. Milam was a member of the Kilgore Baptist Church, and a graduate of the Kilgore High School. Before entering service he had attended Kilgore Junior College and Louisiana State University.
