S. Mitchell. Again has the death angel visited a happy home and taken one of its loved ones. One of earth's most faithful spirits has returned unto the God who gave it. Never more till the day star of eternity guilds the shores of the eternal Beyond will we hear again her sweet voice speaking consoling words to the sorrowing. Never more till we meet beyond the river will we see her sweet face smiling in tender sympathy through her tears. Never again will be hear footsteps or see her beloved form, for God has called her home where there is no more sorrow, no more sighing, no more tears. She was a lovely flower that had bloomed into perfect womanhood and shed its fragrance over all around her. But God has gathered her into the never-faded garlands of the angels, where she will bloom in beauty in praise of her Maker throughout eternity. By her pure christian character she has endeared herself inexpressibly to all who have known her during her life. She was the stay and comfort of her husband's life. To her children she has been all that a true and devoted mother should be. She has been a faithful christian having joined the M. P. Church at an early age. Her work everywhere was well done, her every duty well performed. She was a christian in the truest sense of the word. Friends and loved one of Mrs. Mitchell be comforted. There is no death for such as she. What seems so is but a transition into a life of joy and eternal happiness. The star has only set to rise on a fairer shore. This life is but a stepping stone to the true life Beyond. May we so live that at our death we may leave behind the same beautiful record that this faithful one has and thus insure our entrance into heaven. We watched her breathing through the night, Her breathing soft and low, As in her breast the wave of life, Kept heaving to and fro. So silently we seemed to speak, So slowly moved about, As we had lent her half our powers To eke her being out. Our very hopes belied our fears, Our fear our hopes belied; As we thought her dying when she slept, And sleeping when she died. For when the morn came, dim and sad, And chill with early showers Her quiet eyelids closed -- she had Another morn than ours. A FRIEND.
