Final Rites Held For J. I. Mitchell, Mt. Zion Resident

J. I. Mitchell, a well known citizen and a retired farmer, passed away Feb.
12, 1958, at his residence near Montgomery, after a lengthy illness.

Funeral services were held Feb. 13, 1958, at Mt. Zion Methodist Church under
direction of Southern Funeral Home with Rev. J. A. Jones of Gibsland, Rev. Ray
Atwood and the Rev. Dell Durant of Montgomery officiating.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Nina B. Mitchell; six sons, Owens, Leonard,
and J. P. Mitchell, all of Montgomery, Tracy and Burgess Mitchell of
Natchitoches, and Curtis Mitchell of Shreveport; two daughters, Mrs. Vera
Johnson of Frierson, La., and Mrs. LaVaine Lindsay of West Monroe, La.

Twenty three grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and one brother, Dan C.
Mitchell, of Montgomery, also survive.
