Mixon Buried Monday At Atlanta Mrs. Bertie Ford Mixon, member of a prominent Atlanta farming family, died Saturday, November 13, in a local hospital. She succumbed after an illness of about 14 weeks. Last rites were at the Atlanta Baptist Church Monday, November 15, at 2:20 p.m. Rev. W. L. Holcomb of Winnfield and Rev. Clyde Fortenberry of Atlanta conducted the funeral. Burial was in Atlanta Cemetery under direction of Hixson Funeral Home. Mrs. Mixon was born in Karnes County, Texas, September 27, 1873. She was married to Lambert Mixon about 50 years ago, and the Mixon family reside in the Atlanta Community about five miles south of Atlanta. Mr. Mixon is one of the community's outstanding farmers. Survivors include her husband, two sons, Herbert Mixon and Fred Mixon, both of Atlanta. Pallbearers were W. H. Kilpatrick of Jonesboro, J. McLemore, Harper Terrill, J. W. Barr, R. Melton, and W. L. Mixon of Bunkie.
