Mixon Laid To Rest Here Monday Funeral services for Hardy C. Mixon, pioneer citizen of Louisiana and Winn Parish, were held at the Winnfield Cemtery Monday afternoon at 4 o'clock, a large concourse of relatives and friends of family attending. Services were conducted by Rev. A. H. Cullen, pastor of the Winnfield Baptist Church. Mr. Mixon, 78 years, 8 months, and 5 days, died at his home near Atlanta, Sunday night, February 14th, after an illness of several weeks. Pallbearers were B. W. Bailey, J. E. Carter, P. K. Abel, C. E. Tannehill, J. M. Lang, and T. W. Fowler. The deceased was one of Winn Parish's most prominent farmers. He was a leading spirit in all matters of enterprise in his community and parish, and a Baptist by faith. When a young man he was married to Miss Fannie McLamore, who preceded him in death by several years. To this union four boys and one girl were born. Surviving now are three sons, J. J. Mixon of Natchitoches, H. L. Mixon of Atlanta, and Rev. T. E. Mixon of Tioga.
