Lee Roy Mixon, Sr., Goldonna Native, Dies

Funeral services for Lee Roy Mixon, Sr., 54, of Minden were held at 2:30 p.m.
Tuesday at the Sanders Methodist Church near Winnfield with the Rev. Lesley
Hunter and the Rev. T. W. Barnes officiating.

Burial was in the church cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home
of Winnfield.

Mr. Mixon died at 10:45 p.m. Sunday, July 22, 1973 in a Shreveport hospital
after a long illness.

A native of Goldonna, Mr. Mixon was a veteran of World War II and a member of
the Assembly of God Church.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Sybil A. Mixon of Minden; one son, Lee Roy
Mixon, Jr., of Minden; four daughters, Mrs. Joe DeLoach and Mrs. Patricia
Hunter, both of Minden, Mrs. Carolyn Page of Dubberly, and Mrs. Helen Antilley
of Natchitoches; his mother, Mrs. Bessie Barnes of Minden; three brothers,
Charlie Mixon and Johnny Mixon, both of Minden, and R. L. Mixon of
Mississippi; four sisters, Mrs. Bernice Bryant, Mrs. Bessie Fay Frasier, and
Mrs.. Laverne Floyd, all of Minden, and Mrs. Dorothy Jean Mims of Slidell; and
12 grandchildren.
