Funeral Services For O. J. Mixon, 76, Held At Gansville

Funeral services for Obed J. Mixon, 76, who died in a local hospital January
29, 1957, after a long illness, were held at the Siloam Baptist Church,
Gansville community at 2 p.m. January 30, with the Rev. Jerry Green, pastor of
the South Winnfield Baptist Church, officiating.  Burial was in the Gansville
Cemetery under direction of Hixson Funeral Home.

Acting as pallbearers were Glen and Joe Mixon, Matt Milam, Jr., Morris Gates,
Neal Taylor, and E. J. Buchanan.

A native of Gansville, Mr. Mixon had been a resident of Winnfield most of his
life.  He was a member of the Siloam Baptist Church and was a retired
expressman and employee of the L & A railroad.

Surviving are one daughter, Lura Mixon, Winnfield; and one brother, Clarence
Mixon, Winnfield, and a number of nieces and nephews.
