L. Mixon Friday At Dodson Final rites for Mrs. Ida Wasson Mixon, 79, who passed away at her home in Dodson, Wednesday, July 17, 1957, following a lengthy illness, will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at the Dodson Baptist Church. The pastor, Rev. Edgar Cripps, and a former pastor, Rev. Ray Prager, will officiate. Burial will follow in the family plot in Gansville cemetery. Named as pallbearers are C. B. Payne, W. A. Gaharan, Neil Taylor, Morris Gates, Paul Vayne Gaar, Cheston Stevens, C. L. Bates, and E. J. Buchanan. The deceased was the youngest daughter of the late John Mills Wasson and Sarah Holmes Wasson, pioneer residents of this area. Mrs. Mixon was active in community and church affairs until ill health curtailed her activities. She was a member of the Dodson Baptist Church and of the Order of the Eastern Star. Her husband, the late Alfred Lee Mixon, former mayor of Dodson, preceded her in death eight years. She is survived by nine children, Mrs. Bertha Stovall, Mrs. K. C. Simmons, Dodson; Jack Mixon, Lillie, La.; Mrs. C. A. Patrick, Oil City, La.; Mrs. Francis Curran, New Orleans; Joe J. Mixon, Jena; Mrs. H. E. Crawford, Winnfield; Mrs. W. S. Keckler, Lake Charles; Captain Charles D. Mixon, U. S.Air Force, Anchorage, Alaska; 18 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren. Also surviving is one sister, Mrs. Oren Sholars of Dubach; and one brother,Bill Wasson of San Bernadino, Calif.
