At His Home Funeral services for Edward Cleveland Melton, 69, who died at his home several miles south of Winnfield off the Alexandria highway, Thursday at 3:45 a.m. will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Corinth Baptist Church. The Rev. Louis B. Williams will officiate. Burial will follow in the Winnfield Cemetery with Masonic services at the grave. Mr. Melton was a member of a prominent Winn Parish family, being one of the sons of the late Mr. and Mrs. William D. Melton. He was a successful stock raiser and farmer, but had been in ill health a long time. His wife had preceded him in death. He is survived by five brothers, Riley, Wright, and Cranford of Winnfield; Lee of Lake Charles and Bill Melton of Minden. He also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Annie Mae Finch and Mrs. Jewel Keith of Baton Rouge.
