Old Child Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Melton Dies Monday Sandria Lee Melton, 13 month old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Melton of near Winnfield died in a local clinic Monday afternoon from burns she received Monday morning, when playing near the stove. She stuck a splinter into the fire and ignited her clothes. The child's mother was in the yard at the time and when attracted by her child's screams was unable to reach her before she was fatally burned. Funeral services were conducted at Melton Church by Rev. Alwin Stokes, pastor Winnfield Presbyterian Church. Interment was in the Melton Cemetery, with Edmonds Funeral Home in charge. Surviving are the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sam H. Melton, and the maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Dick.
