All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: March 6, 1941 Winn Parish Enterprise Harold Mobley, Victim of Burns, Succumbs Mar. 1 Harold Mobley, 16, who was badly burned three weeks ago near the home of his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Capps of Georgetown, died in a local clinic Friday. The youth built a fire out in the woods about 200 yards in front of his grandparents' home, went to sleep and awoke with his clothes afire. He became frightened and started to run to a nearby creek but in his excitement ran in the opposite direction. Almost all of his clothing was burned from his body. Funeral services were held at the Winnfield Presbyterian Church here Saturday at 2 p.m., conducted by Rev. Alwin Stokes and Rev. H. H. McBride. Interment was in the Winnfield Cemetery. The deceased is survived by his mother and stepfather, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Skains; a half brother, Dale Skains, and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Capps of Georgetown.
