Moffett, 68, died in a Jonesboro nursing home Friday morning, August 27, 1965 following a lengthy illness. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Sunday at the First Baptist Church in Tallulah with the Revs. John Kitchenham and John Hurt officiating. Burial was in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Mr. Moffett was employed by the Chicago Mill and Lumber Co. of Tallulah. He was a member of the Siloam Baptist Church at Gansville. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Clara Moffett of Jonesboro; four sons, Charles W. Moffett of Vidalia, Cornell Winston Moffett and Wilbur Lee Moffett, both of Tallulah, and Billy Ray Moffett of Vicksburg; two daughters, Mrs. S. J. Autrey and Mrs. Odell Redd, both of Tallulah; four brothers, Dewey Moffett, H. N. Moffett, Rev. Louis Moffett, and Mark Moffett, all of Dodson; three sisters, Mrs. R. V. Kitchenham of Monroe, and Mrs. Fred Ford and Mrs. J. O. Culpepper, both of Jonesboro; and 14 grandchildren. Pallbearers were Madison Hattaway, Onward Bullard, Robert Melton, George Hopkins, Herman Wilson, and Jeff Wilson.
