P. O. Moffett Of Florien Buried At Zion Hill Aug. 3 Rev. Patrick Osborn Moffett, 71 years, 11 months, and one day of age, of Florien, La., died August 1, 1961. He was a native of Dodson. Funeral services were conducted at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, August 3, 1961, at the Zion Hill Baptist Church at Tannehill, with the pastor, the Rev. Carter, assisted by the Rev. H. E. Chance of Many, officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home. Rev. Moffett was licensed to preach October, 1915, and was ordained August, 1916. He held pastorates for many years throughout Louisiana and retired June, 1961, from the Crystal Springs Church near Annacoco. He was first married to Miss Josie Peters of Winnfield in 1912 and she died in 1943. On December 1, 1949 he was married to Mrs. Alice Leach of Florien, who survives him. He is also survived by one adopted son, Elzie Moffett, Jefferson City, Mo.; his mother, Mrs. N. M. Moffett, Winnfield; four sisters, Mrs. D. D. Jones, Winnfield, Mrs. E. T. Bishop, Natchitoches, Mrs. P. P. Nelson, Buna, Texas, Mrs. Merle Watts, Lake Charles; five brothers, T. C. Moffett, San Antonio, Texas, C. D. and N. C. Moffett, Houston, J. M. Moffett, Fillmore, Calif., and C. M. Moffett, Jennings; a number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends and other relatives.
