J. Moffett Is Buried Dec. 17 At Cypress Creek Mrs. Laurissa Jane Moffett, 96, died at a Winnfield nursing home at 6:30 a.m. December 15, after a long illness. She was a native of Panola County, Texas, and a member of the Springhill Primitive Baptist Church. Last rites were conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, December 17, at the Cypress Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. T. E. Williams, Rev. Louis Moffett, and the Rev. E. D. Smith officiating. Burial was in the Cypress Creek Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home. Surviving are five sons, T. C. Moffett, San Antonio, Tex., C. D. Moffett and N. C. Moffett, Houston, Texas, J. M. Moffett, Fillmore, Calif., and C. M. Moffett of Jennings; four daughters, Mrs. E. T. Bishop of Natchitoches, Mrs. P. P. Nelson of Buna, Texas, Mrs. Merle Watts, Lake Charles, and Mrs. Dayton Jones of Calvin. She also leaves 49 grandchildren, 58 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. Pallbearers were grandsons: Cirey Danewood, Elzie Moffett, Tommy Moffett, Marvin Moffett, Dudley Watts, and David Roy, a great grandson.
