Mrs. Monroe, 91, Dies Friday After Lengthy Illness

Mrs. Laura Monroe, 91, mother of Mrs. J. E. Williams, Sr., of Winnfield, died
at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. ____ Boyett.  "Aunt Laura," as she was
known, had been ill for a long time.

Funeral services were held at the Pentecostal Church at Goldonna, Mrs.
Monroe's home, with burial in the Goldonna Cemetery under direction of
Southern Funeral Home.  Ministers officiating at the funeral were Bro. W. C.
Mixon of Rayville, Rev. H. J. Mott and Rev. H. L. Black of Winnfield.

Mrs. Monroe is survived by four daughters, Mrs. J. E. Williams of Winnfield,
Mrs. Jimmy Lyons of Los Angeles, Calif., Mrs. Stella Joyner of Goldonna, and
Mrs. T. E. Bossier of Daingerfield, Texas; one son, Hamilton Monroe of
Livingston, Texas; 23 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren, and one great
great grandchild.

Pallbearers, grandsons of Mrs. Monroe, were Ellis Williams, Jr., of Winnfield,
Walter Monroe of Livingston, Texas, Joe Mixon of Jena, Doc Foster of
Hempstead, Texas, Bill Hamilton of Downsville, La., and Charlie Lacquer of
Baton Rouge.
