John D. Moore, Life Long Resident, Succumbs Thursday

John D. Moore, about 95, a lifelong resident of Winn Parish, died at his
home in the Jordan Hill Community at 4:30 a.m. Thursday as a result of an
illness that had confined him to his bed for six years.  

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. today (Friday) at the
Pleasant Hill Cemetery.  Arrangements were incomplete when this was
written Thursday.

He is survived by his wife, five sons, George Moore of Shreveport and Matt
Moore, J. D. Moore, Leon Moore, and Wade Moore of Winn Parish; four
daughters, Mrs. Trav Merritt of Tioga, and Mrs. W. E. Smith, Mrs. Archie
Jordan and Mrs. W. N. Coburn, all of Winn Parish; a sister, Mrs. S.
McBride of Montgomery, and a brother, Oliver Moore of Montgomery.  

The deceased was a native of Alabama.
