M. C. Mooty, 76, Succumbs; Buried At Mt. Zion Jan. 29

Minor Claude Mooty, 76, died in an Alexandria hospital January 27.  A retired
farmer, he was a resident of the Mt. Zion community, Rt. 1, Montgomery.

Funeral services were conducted at 4 p.m. January 29, at the Union Hill
Baptist Church with Rev. Luna Ellis and Rev. Menak officiating.  Burial was in
the Mt. Zion Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home.

The deceased leaves his wife, Mrs. Mary A. Mooty of Rt. 1, Montgomery; four
sons, M. C., Jr. and Leonard of Lafitte, La., Larry of Port Sulphur, and Billy
of Montgomery; four daughters, Mrs. Bryant Gordon and Mrs. W. I. Shaw of St.
Francisville, La., Mrs. Sidney Spillman and Katherine Mooty of Baton Rouge; 14
grandchildren, one great grandchild.

He also leaves five sisters, Mrs. Lena McBride, Mrs. Carrie Hosner, and Mrs.
Gertrude Fletcher, of Montgomery; Mrs. Inez Jones of New Orleans and Mrs. Ann
Boyd of Camden, Ark.
