Mrs. Ida Mooty Dies at Age 93 In Ragley Oct. 22

Services Conducted At Union Hill Baptist Church On October 24

Funeral services were held at the Union Hill Baptist Church at 10:30 a.m.
Friday, Oct. 24 for Mrs. Ida W. Mooty, who died at the home of her daughter in
Ragley, La., Oct. 22, 1952 at the age of 93 years and 28 days.  Rites were
conducted by the Rev. Verne Fletcher and interment was in the Union Hill
Cemetery (Mt. Zion-Wheeling).

A native of Columbia County, Ark., Mrs. Mooty was born Sept. 24, 1859.  She
was preceded in death by her husband and seven of her children, and for 20
years she made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Gertrude Fletcher, most of the
time at Verda.

Survivors include six daughters, Mrs. Gertrude Fletcher of Ragley, Mrs. Lena
McBride and Mrs. Carrie Hosner of Montgomery, Mrs. Inez Jones of New Orleans,
Mrs. Cassie Enloe of El Dorado, Ark., and Mrs. Anna Boyd of Camden, Ark.; two
sons, W. H. Mooty, Jr., of Norphlet, Ark., and M. C. Mooty, Sr., of
Montgomery; 45 grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren, and four great-
great grandchildren.
