All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Herbert Moss, Sr., Obit July 29, 1965, Winn Parish Enterprise Herbert Moss, Sr., Ex-Lumberman, Succumbs At 80 Herbert Moss, Sr., 80, a retired wholesale lumberman, died Friday, July 23, 1965 at 10:45 a.m. at his home, 315 College St., Shreveport, following an extended illness. Mr. Moss was a native of Columbia. He had lived in Shreveport for 19 years and was a Shriner and a member of El Karubah Temple and Scottish Rite. He was a 50-year member of Joppa Masonic Lodge and a member of the Rotary Club. Prior tomoving to Shreveport, Mr. Moss had been connected with Tremont Lumber Company, and had resided in Joyce and Winnfield. He was the brother of the late Judge Cas Moss. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mabel Perkins Moss of Shreveport; one daughter, Mrs. Gentry L. Rowsey, Jr. of San Antonio, Tex.; one son, Herbert Moss, Jr., of Harlingen, Tex.; one sister, Mrs. Ruby L. Hanks of Winnfield; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Sunday in the chapel of Rose-Neath Funeral Home, with the Rev. Robert Park, of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, officiating.
