Moss, a resident in Winnfield since 1900, died Wednesday night, June 14, 1950, at 9:00 o'clock in the Veterans Hospital in New Orleans. Having been in failing health, due to leukemia and heart trouble, for the past two years, he became seriouslly ill three weeks ago in the hospital in Alexandria, he was carried to the Veterans Hospital in New Orleans, where he has been undergoing treatment for the past two months. Members of the local V. F. W. Post donated blood during his illness. A World War I veteran, Mr. Moss was born on July 17, 1889 in Winn Parish. During World War II he followed the trade of an electrician in defense industries. Since the war he had retired due to ill health. He was a member of Laurel Heights Baptist Church, Winnfield. Funeral services will be held at the Laurel Heights Baptist Church, Winnfield, Friday morning, June 16, at 10 o'clock. Rev. H. J. Mott, pastor, will be in charge. Participating will be members of the local V. F. W. Post, of which deceased was a member, and also a firing squad from the local National Guard. Interment will be in the Winnfield Cemetery with the Southern Funeral Home in charge. Survivors are one son, Robert Moss, civil aeronautics instructor at L. S. U. Baton Rouge, La., three brothers, Judge Cas Moss and A. A. Moss, Winnfield, and Herbert Moss, Shreveport; one sister, Mrs. Ruby Hanks, Winnfield. His parents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Moss. Pallbearers will be Clinton Allen, Herbert Harrison, Hiram Wright, J. R. Madden, Jr., R. C. Byrnes, and Frank Fiorello, who are members of the V. F. W.
