O. Martin Are Buried In One Grave Tuesday Only 21 hours separated the deaths of a husband and wife, residents of the Murry Camp, last Sunday. Mrs. J. O. Martin, 59 years of age, died at the home of her son, G. F. Provence, in Winnfield at 1:40 a.m. after an illness of one week with pneumonia, which she had contracted while at the bedside of her husband, a patient in a Shreveport hospital. Mr. Martin, 71 years of age, died Sunday night at 10 o'clock. He had been in the hospital six weeks and had undergone an operation. Funeral services for Mr. and Mrs. Martin were held at the Old Union Church near Joyce, Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, with the Rev. J. D. Kitchingham of Columbia, and the Rev. G. A. Morgan and Rev. Alwin Stokes of Winnfield officiating. Burial was made in one grave. Both Mr. and Mrs. Martin were natives of Missouri. Mrs. Martin had been a resident of Louisiana for about 30 years. She was first married to Mr. J. M. Provence and they have one son. After the death of her first husband, she came to Louisiana and was married to Mr. Martin at Jonesboro, and they have one child, now deceased. Mrs. Martin was a member of the Christian Church and of the Woodmen of the World. Mr. Martin was born November 11, 1867 in Missouri. By his first wife he had one son and one daughter. He has been a resident of Louisiana for many years and for the past 25 years had been with the Tremont Lumber Company, residing at Joyce, Zenoria, and Murray Junction. He was a member of the Baptist Church, the Masonic Order, and the Woodmen of the World. Surviving Mrs. Martin are one son, G. F. Provence and three grandchildren of Winnfield; one sister, Mrs. Laura Kindle of Batson, Texas; and four brothers, John and Lee Marler of Portland, Oregon, and Jimmie and Alonzo Marler of Illinois. Surviving Mr. Martin are one sons and one daughter, Mrs. Pearl Hicks of Winnfield and Mr. Otha Martin of Clarks and twelve grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Kate Weltie of Piedmont, Mo.
