S. Martin, 79, Dies of Heart Attack Monday Funeral services for E. S. Martin, 79, retired engineer of the Louisiana & Arkansas Railway, were held Tuesday, August 5, at 2 p.m., at the Southern Funeral Home with Rev. Don Brown of Atlanta officiating. Burial was in the Atlanta Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home. Acting as pallbearers were Roy Miller, Jerry Miller, Troy Smith, Herman Moore, Clarence Manshell, and Richard Heard. Mr. Martin died of a heart attack Monday morning while he was in the People's Hardware. He had been in failing health for a number of years. A native of Wadesboro, N. C., he had spent most of his life in Louisiana and Winn Parish. He was a member of the Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Olan Martin, Route 1, Winnfield; one daughter, Mrs. James E. Bolin, Minden, La.; five grandchildren, four step children, Fred and Glyn Grimmett of Shreveport, Clifford Grimmett, New Orleans, and Mrs. Hugh Southerland, Route 1, Winnfield; one brother, J. B. Martin and one sister, Mrs. Lillie Horn, both of Polkton, N. C.
