J. R. Martin Funeral Held Here Monday

J. R. Martin, age 22 years, 11 months and 7 days, who died in a Shreveport
sanitarium last Friday night at 8 o'clock, was buried here last Monday
afternoon at 4 p.m.

Mr. Martin was connected with the Gulf Refining Co. at Mooringsport at the
time he was taken ill.  He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Joy Calhoun Martin,
to whom he was married September 12th, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Martin,
and several brothers and sisters.

Funeral services were held Monday at 4 p.m. at the residence of Mrs. Martin's
parents, Mr. and Mrs. John L. Calhoun, conducted by Rev. Alwin Stokes of the
Presbyterian Church, after which interment was made in the Winnfield Cemetery.
Among those from out of town attending the funeral were Mrs. L. C. Craighead
and Mrs. Norman Scarborough of Mooringsport, Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Posey of
Jackson, Miss., and J. Y. Wallace of Campti, La.
