M. C. Martin of Natchitoches Former Resident of Calvin Is Buried Tuesday Morning Mrs. C. M. C. Martin, 54 years of age, died at the Natchitoches sanitarium, Monday, March 8, 1937. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday morning at the Bethlehem Church near Calvin, with Rev. Emmett Jones, nephew of the deceased from Fort Worth, Texas, officiating. Mrs. Martin, who was born and reared in Bienville Parish, was the widow of the late C. M. C. Martin, former president of the Winn Parish Police Jury and former newspaper man of Winnfield. She was a member of the Baptist Church and Eastern Star and resided in the Calvin Community for many years. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother and a good practical nurse, and was always ready to help her friends in times of sickness and trouble. Surviving are three sons and one daughter, John, Newton, Charlie, and Mrs. L. T. Bailes, all of Natchitoches; a step daughter, Mrs. George Chandler of Winnsboro and seven grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters and two brothers, Mrs. W. M. Tyler, Calvin, Mrs. Annie Griggs, Bienville Parish, Mr. "Pink" Jones and Bob Jones of Bienville Parish.
