Murphy Funeral services for Hardy B. Murphy, 63, barber of Monroe, who died at his home in Monroe, Friday, October 7, were held at the Dodson Baptist Church Monday, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Clyde Averette of Dodson and Rev. J. T. Massey of Ferriday officiating. Burial was in the Transport Cemetery. Acting as pallbearers were N. T. Foster, Tony Russell, T. L. Bullock, Jimmy Campbell, Stanley Brister, and Jesse W. Whitlock, of West Monroe. The deceased was the son of Mrs. Nettie Murphy of Dodson and of the late Mr. Murphy. His remains lay in state at the home of his brother, E. B. Murphy until time of funeral. Besides his mother, he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Barney Eberhardt, Cleveland, Ohio; one son, Donald, of Galveston, Texas; one sister, Mrs. Leona Smith, Longview, Wash.; three brothers, J. J. of Beaumont, Texas, E. B. of Dodson, and Ansel of Winnfield. He also leaves one grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
