Murphy Dies At Vienna Last Wednesday William H. Murphy, aged 87, died at his home in Vienna, Wednesday, February 17. He had been ill two weeks and was taken by a stroke of paralysis. He had lived in Vienna for more than sixty years. He was well known in Winnfield where he visited his daughter, Mrs. Byron Jackson. Mr. Murphy was a member of the Masonic Lodge for years and took an active part in the building of the Vienna Community. He was a Confederate soldier and often attended conventions in company with Winn Parish veterans. Funeral services were conducted last Thursday afternoon at Vienna and interment was in the Vienna Cemetery.
